Tactical Sec Ops 2015 (4-5 Novembre)

Tactical Sec Ops (4-5 Novembre 2015)

(Course materials are in English)

This year we are happy to present you "Tactical Sec Ops" by Secure Ideas!

How often have you found yourself justifying the time needed to fix a vulnerability to management or looking through a system trying to decide if its been compromised or not? Or being surprised when new systems suddenly appear on the network? Tactical Sec Ops is about making these problems easier to deal with and being prepared to respond when they do. You will learn how to use open source software to speed your ability to get things done and protect your environment! Among the various topics, the course will cover:

- Distributed network scanning using nmap
- Using Metasploit to demonstrate vulnerability risk
- Performing network traffic analysis
- Analyzing systems for signs of compromise
- Automation using Python
- Strategies for planning your security operations

Jason Wood will be the instructor of this class. He will be guiding the students in this VERY hands-on session. The course will contain two days of materials and practical exercises. The exercises will allow the students to apply the tools and techniques they learned and combine them to solve real problems.

Jason Wood is a Principal Security Consultant with Secure Ideas. He has over a decade of systems administration and security experience with the Windows and UNIX/Linux operating systems. He has spent most of his career in internet-based companies in security, application and infrastructure roles. These roles have required him to troubleshoot application issues, making different operating systems play well with each other and supporting developers during their projects. Jason was also responsible for vulnerability assessments, web application penetration testing and network security monitoring.

Jason has also spent a number of hours in front of an audience presenting on security topics at conferences and in classes. He has presented at Derbycon and the Utah Open Source Conference. Before coming to Secure Ideas, Jason taught classes on vulnerability management, event monitoring, and configuration auditing for Tenable Network Security. He also has been a mentor for SANS Security 504 - Hacker Techniques, Exploits and Incident Handling.
