Basic amateur radio certification

Obtaining basic amateur radio certification is no easy task. The training includes a hundred or so very different subjects covering electronics, antennas, regulations and so on. The exam consists of 100 multiple-choice questions from a possible bank of almost 1000 questions.

Description

For the second time, Hackfest is offering you the chance to obtain your amateur radio certificate (basic skill) with an all-inclusive package.

You’ll have the freedom to study the material via the excellent training site of the Fédération des Radio Amateurs du Québec Inc (RAQI).

You’ll then join us for a day of review and simulation, and take your exam directly on site.

This accelerated training concept is offered to you thanks to a collaboration between the Club Radio Amateur de Québec (CRAQ), the Fédération des Radio Amateurs du Québec Inc (RAQI) and Hackfest Communication.

Club Radio Amateur de Québec

Members of the Club Radio Amateur de Québec will be on hand to answer your questions during the review day. These experienced members will help you understand the various topics covered in the exam. The club is in its 98th year of existence and operates communications infrastructures throughout the Quebec City region. You can reach the club’s website at www.craq.club.

Rules

  • Identification is required and will be requested on site. (Make sure your name is identical to the one on your registration form)
  • No registration allowed in class

Logistic

  • Training: Following your registration, you will receive an e-mail with the information to start the online training.
  • Review: Review day is Thursday, October 10, starting at 9:00.
  • Material: BYOD (Bring your own device) if you can (laptop only).
