The crew

At the Chess Village, the pieces traded their crowns for tricorn hats. Here is who is on board.

  • The Captain

    King

Slow, precious and always in the crosshairs. Lose him and the whole ship goes down.

  • The Corsair

    Queen

The most fearsome hand on deck. She strikes in every direction and asks no one for permission.

  • The Galleon

    Rook

A floating fortress that sails in straight lines. Perfect for a broadside in the endgame.

  • The Gunner

    Bishop

Fires on the diagonal, from far away, when you least expect it.

  • The Kraken

    Knight

Rises in an L over everyone's heads. No deck is safe.

  • The Cabin Boy

    Pawn

Small but brave. Cross the whole ocean and he becomes a corsair.

All levels

Grandmaster or cabin boy still learning how the knight moves: everyone is welcome on board.
